Bangkok, bring it on!

I'm off to Bangkok over the Chinese New Year weekend, for part work, part pleasure. I hope everyone in Hong Kong enjoys the long weekend, and Happy Year of the Dragon everyone!

A couple of pics of where I'll be staying...will share more with you when I get back!

Have no idea where this is, so Im intrigued. The building looks as though it has a medical emblem on it, and the klong - well it could be in Thonburi? Kung Hei Fat Choy! I expect the place will be heaving with HK-ites, and others from Chinese dominated areas, including of course the PRC.

Hi Columnist, its called the Asadang Hotel (so named after the Klong, I think ?) next to the Ministry of the Interior, and a stone's throw from the Royal Palace. A really charming hotel with only 8 or 9 rooms. It was wonderful, and yes, teeming with other Hong Kongers!

I had a look at their website. Looks interesting, and I'm glad you enjoyed staying there. It's encouraging when these old buildings are restored, and this is their second project. It's quite similar to the Eugenia, off Sukhumvit: www.theeugenia.com

Yes, we had a drink at the Eugenia one night and I think I might have to stay there some time, it looks gorgeous!

Thank you for mentioning Greyhound Cafe in your beautiful blog. If you are a fan of Greyhound, I am a fan of your blog as well. BTW you can now find Greyhound Cafe at ifc mall. Hope you enjoy us in HK as well. Cheers!

My pleasure Bhanu...I've yet to try Greyhound in IFC, but if its anything like the BKK venues then I'm sure it will be excellent!
