Good morning folks! I saw this lovely little invention on Est this morning. The beautiful 'simply bathroom set' was designed by fellow Melbournians Groupwork and was exhibited at Milan this year. What a gorgeous and versatile way to organise and personalise your bathroom! I'm completely smitten!

Tap it
While I'm on the subject of details...tap fittings are another of those important features that sometimes get overlooked or not effectively integrated into an interior. There are just so many out there that there is really no excuse...except perhaps your budget. But, budget permitting...here are a few of my current faves!

Bisazza Bagno
Word on the street is world-renowned Italian house of mosaics, Bisazza, has just launched a new division - Bisazza Bagno. Teaming up with Jaime Hayon - everyone's favorite Spanish designer du jour - for their first collection, the new division will be dedicated to providing a complete offering of bathroom products.
Bisazza Bango says the decision to work with Jaime Hayon on the design of the first Bisazza Bagno collection was based on their common design aesthetic and stylistic values.
Hayon says of the idea behind the premiere bathroom collection: "The collection recalls the glamour of the 1930s with a Scandinavian touch and feminine shapes. Elegance is the main trait of this innovative collection. The bathroom is the most important room in the home and it should not be hidden. With this collection, it becomes an area you want to show, a place you can keep open. The bathroom becomes a stylish room, full of charm and style, with a strong identity.”
According to Bisazza Bagno, we can expect to see more collaborations with some equally talented and high-profile designers in the near future. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what they come up with!
I love the lightness and the sensuality of the designs...a nice change from the usual bathroom offerings. The white and chrome combos are pretty classic and easy to use, however its the black and copper that I'm coveting. What do you guys think?

Bathroom bliss
Spotted this on Laura Kirar's website this afternoon...and think I might be in love. The perfect combination of timber, stone and bronze in a bathroom...and that chair. Love love love.

Modern Graphic Bathrooms
My posting has been a bit sporadic lately, and there are a few reasons why...namely, the company I work for installed a firewall recently which blocks, amongst many other things, blogger. I was in the habit of reading and writing blog posts during my lunch break, because honestly its the only free time I've had recently. No more. That, and we've had a friend from Australia staying with us. The lucky girl has been trekking around Asia the last month and left the not so sunny shores of Hong Kong for Paris yesterday. *sigh* Are you as jealous as I am? Anyway, I do digress. What I wanted to post was these stunning images of graphic modern bathrooms. I haven't done a bathroom round-up for a while, and these are the ones that have been the inspiration lately for the never-ending imaginary renovation I have in my head. Hope you like! Two stunners by Pierre Yovanovitch - the really bold combination of black and white marble in these is stunning.

Antonio Citterio
Last night I attended a bathware product launch designed by Antonio Citterio for Axor, where I was lucky enough to meet the legendary man himself (and get his autograph - yes, I know, I'm a sad design groupie!). Citterio, who to me, epitomises modern italian design, has been one of my architect idols since the age of 15 and wanted to be an architect myself (that all changed when the school told me I would have to chose maths and sciences over arts and creative subjects...). So today, I thought I'd revisit some pics of his own Milan home which was completed in 1998 - 10 years ago now - but it still looks just as fresh and modern today as it did then.

Today I'm loving
These handmade glazed terracotta tiles from Fez, Morocco, called "Zelliges" by Emery & Cie. I love the colour variation of each unique tile and how together they create something that looks almost organic. Their selection of colours is amazing - from lovely pale neutrals to dark and moody dark hues like chocolate or cinnabar.
The colour above is no. 12 "Blue Ciel Gris" - which I think might be my favorite.
They look stunning en masse in a bathroom or kitchen, as Ilse Crawford has done in her own home (above) and the London home of a client (below) - as featured in the lastest Domino Magazine.
Emery & Cie has a lovely range of products hand made in Morocco, so I recommend you check out their website if you like the look of these tiles.

Bathroom inspirations....
I also love these pieces wich are part of a bathroom collection that was designed by the Spanish designer Jamie Hayon for the Spanish bathroom company Artquitect. He has created an entire line (available in black or white) of furniture and bathroom pieces which have incredibly sexy shapes. These again are little more modern and organic than I'm normally drawn to, but I would love to use the sink pedestal on its own with more classic looking tapware and bowl.

More bathing beauties....
Here are a few more of my favorites from my style files...
Love the crisp whiteness of this one, and I also pretty much love any bathroom with furniture in it... It's the elephant on the window sill that does it for me.
