Double take...

I saw these cool Italian 1950's chairs on 1st Dibs this morning and realised they looked familiar...

I found this chair on the Williams-Sonoma Home website a little while ago and fell in love.

The originals are $7600 (US) for the pair...the WS version....a mere $995. They're pretty close...don't ya think?

Shockingly, amazingly close. If you got hung up on the cushion, you could easily have a new one made and still come out ahead. I guess it depends on whether you are a purist or not.

Very close indeed. Not sure if I will succumb..I'm running out of space in my apartment for new furniture - what a travesty!

They're actually American, made by Mastercraft. The Italian attribution is incorrect

not mastercraft... italian... mastercraft bought them in italy and sold them as mastercraft... most mastercraft pieces are plated steel the top chairs are solid brass... ;) i know i've bought bunches of them in italy before!
